Here’s what you need to know about property taxes in Las Vegas.
If you own a home or plan on buying one, you need to be aware of all the costs associated with it. That’s why today I’m going to share everything you need to know about paying property taxes in Las Vegas.
First, property taxes are paid semi-annually, typically in November and May. You can pay your bill online, by mail, or in person at the Clark County treasurer’s office, but most people choose to do it online. If you don’t have the funds to pay your taxes in full, you might be able to set up a payment plan at the treasurer’s office.
“Your home’s resale value and taxable value are not the same.”
Fortunately, property taxes in Clark County are some of the lowest in the country, but you need to make sure you pay them on time. There are some nasty penalties for late payments, including an increased monthly payment, so stay on top of them.
One thing to remember is that your home’s resale value and taxable value are not the same. It’s true that your taxable value tends to increase with your resale value, but there are limits on how much your taxable value can increase.
If you have questions about your property taxes, make sure to check out Clark County’s website. As always, don’t hesitate to call or email me. I am always willing to help!
